Hardware Design

Our team of electronics engineers has a diverse range of skills covering digital electronics, analogue circuits for biomedical applications and signal processing, and broad wireless technology experience.

We regularly research and implement cutting edge technology, but also proudly develop low cost electronics solutions. We have experience with a wide range of microcontrollers from TI, Silicon Labs, Microchip, NXP etc., and design products incorporating WiFi, Zigbee, Bluetooth and cellular radios. Recent product developments include many IMUs and environmental and biometric sensors, with a particular emphasis on cameras, thermal imaging and computer vision. We have a lot of expertise to offer in location-based solutions incorporating GPS/Glonass.

Hardware development services include full schematic capture, PCB design (whether simple or complex multi-layer boards) and prototyping, working closely with industrial designers to achieve the optimum product definitions.

Embedded Firmware Development

Many of our projects require embedded firmware development. Our developers carry out high level system design, working closely with the electronics team, and produce low level algorithms.

We are experienced with a range of RTOS, embedded Linux and Android, communication stack integration (WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, IP4 etc.), device drivers, and the use of graphics LCDs and touch controllers.

We are thorough in our approach to firmware development, designing and testing to agreed specifications, carrying out real time debugging and providing manufacturing production test support.

Testing, Regulatory Approvals and Manufacturing Support

We support our clients through product testing and refinement, and in achieving the product approvals necessary to manufacture and ship the product.

This includes rigorous hardware validation on prototype and final builds, performance and functional tests, pre-certification and environmental testing.

We can also help our client to select a suitable manufacturer. Manufacturing support provided by Jasteq often includes fixtures and jigs for test and programming, and producing custom test software.
